  • If any person, dishonestly, or fraudulently, does any act referred to in I.T. Act section 43, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with fine which may extend to Five Lakh Rupees or with both.
  • In India, 21 of I.T. Act 2000 was enacted to provide legal recognition for transaction involving electronic date interchange and other forms of electronic communication.
  • The word ” cyber ” is slang for anything relating to computers, information technology, internet and virtual reality.
  • Cybercrime is any criminal activity that uses a computer either as an instrument, target or a means for perpetuating further crimes.
  • Cybercrime is unlawful acts wherein the computer is either a tool/medium or a target or both.
  • Cybercrime is a Software that is secretly or surreptitiously installed into an information system to gather information on individuals or organisations without their knowledge; a type of malicious code.
  • Fraudulently or dishonestly make use of the electronic signature, password or any other unique identification feature of any other person, shall be punished under Section 66C of I.T. Act with imprisonment for a term to three years and fine which may extend to Rupees One Lakh.
