Intellectual Property usually gives the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for a certain period of time.

  • Intellectual Property rights are the rights given to persons over the creations of their minds.
  • Intellectual Property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs and symbols, names and images used in commerce
  • Intellectual Property (IP) is a category of  property  that includes intangible creations of the human intellect. There are many types of intellectual property and some countries recognize more than others.
  • Intellectual Property rights are customarily divided as (i) Copyright and rights related to copyright, (2) Industrial Property.
  • A functioning intellectual property regime should also facilitate the transfer of technology in the form of foreign direct investment, joint ventures and licensing.
